Sweet little pumpkin pie...

Our little pumpkin spice had a blast at the pumpkin farm this year! The weather cooperated just long enough for Gabby to settle down with a candy apple so we could take some photos.

I still can not believe how grown up she is these days. As we approach her second birthday, I find myself in the same bittersweet place I was just before her first birthday, saying good-bye to one year and wondering what the next will hold. Every night after putting Gabby to bed and saying our night time prayers, I almost always wind up with a lump in my throat because it is during those moments when I realize what a gift each day really is. I love you, my sweet little angel face!

A bittersweet farewell to Summer...

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I live for the summer and would rather be seaside then any other place in the world. We eeked in one last trip to the beach for the summer, and while some of that time was spent doing absolutely nothing during naptimes (no cable or wi-fi at the beach house), the rest of that time was spent soaking up the waves and feeling of sandy feet, showing off the boardwalk to Gabby without any crowds, and visiting local restaurants that we never bothered to during the busy season...

I took these pics on our last evening at the beach. For once during the whole trip, the wind died down, the sun was shining, and it was the perfect time to search for treasures and chase birds...

A very special visit!

We had some very special visitors last weekend! Grandma & Grandpa Boyer drove up from Florida with Aunt Peanuts. They loved being able to see her again and could not believe how big she has gotten. I made everyone jumbo lump crab cakes and corn on the cob for dinner and everyone was SO happy and really enjoyed them.

I am pretty sad that I didn't get to take many good pictures. I dropped my good camera and my external flash snapped off and has not cooperated since! Needless to say, I have been very distraught without it. I may as well be without my left arm!

We had an early morning thunderstorm, last weekend I think it was? Gabby was quite interested in the thunder and rain! Here she is talking about it:

Back to the beach!

We just spent another weekend in Bethany Beach! Gabby remembered the ocean, the waves, and the beach this time which was really cool. She's no longer afraid of the waves though, which is SCARY for mom. We hit the beach early each day since Gabby rises at 6 a.m. Beat the crowds and were back to the house each morning for naptime. Pretty nice!

The best part of our trip was being able to meet up with Mujer (Jen), Jay C, and sweet little Janie for a little baby reunion! Janie is such a doll baby and Gabby loved sharing her snacks with her. They were so cute together. I just know they would be best buds if they lived closer! It was sad to say good-bye to my Mujer, but hopefully we can spend some more time together soon...

Quiet time...

Every day after we come home from daycare, Gabby asks for her Pooh blankie, her ninny, and a sippy cup of milk. Tuck her in under a blanket, and all the 'gredients are there for some prime down time!

Gabby is quite the talker these days. I could watch her jibber jabber to her babies and her Little People all day. Last night, she pretended to push her baby down the "slide" (actually, a pillow). She started her off at the top and said, "ready? WEEE" as she slid her down. So cute!

Then she was busy busy busy with her people doll house- ringing the door bell and saying, "bing bong!", and helping the Daddy to go potty on the toilet! "Potty, K? Potty. K."

Then, she was changing her baby's diaper and I watched her fold the baby's legs up- toes almost to her ears so she could get to the baby's hiney. Then she carefully wiped the baby's behind, inspected the wipe and said, "Gross." I could have died- it was so funny! I suspect I should watch myself from here on out when tackling a dirty diaper! Hahahahaha!

The Fourth of July.

This year, the fourth of July was so much fun! I had forgotten how many memories were made as a kid during the excitement of Independence Day! The BOOM of the fireworks, yelling and clapping during the finale, the smell of the smoke when it is all over. Gabby loved the fireworks and I found myself feeling like the luckiest mom alive as she watched in awe, and said "Wow! BOOM! Light!" I know she won't remember this day, but I am so happy that our family's collection of memories is already piling up. Happy belated fourth to everyone, and thank you Gabby for being such a joy that day! LOVE YOU!
