Christmas Day

Gabby's 1st Christmas was a blast! She couldn't rip into her presents, but she was pretty good at sleeping with visions of sugar plums dancing in her head! She spent the day snoozing in the arms of one family member and then another, and was a complete angel the whole day. She melted down a bit when it was time for bed at home that night, but with all the activity I suppose that is to be expected.

Gabby also has been spending some time on her rainforest activity mat! It makes lights and sounds and is BABY ACTIVATED! I *think* Gabby just might get that her movement makes the music play. I'll post the video soon and let you be the judge!

New developments this week include lots more smiles, less crying in the evenings, and she's into 3-6 months clothes already! I think someone had their six week growth spurt early!

Happy One Month Gabby!

Our little sunshine is one month old! Hard to believe she has been ours for that long... She made quite an impression at her one month pediatrician visit when she weighed in at 12 lbs 4 oz! The doctor says she is the textbook picture of a thriving healthy baby! He says we can let her sleep and eat whenever she wants now, and if sleeping through the night is something she is inclined to do, we have the green light now. Let's see what you can do about that, Gabby! She's waking up only once a night now, which is nice for those of us who have been sleep deprived. Crossing our fingers she keeps up the good work!

Christmas Pics!

We got Gabby all dressed up (or dressed down technically) and made some homemade Christmas photos for the family. She is definitely at home in front of the camera!

El frijole tengo tres semanas...

(The Bean is 3 weeks old!!) And already showing her little personality! Gabrielle is such a ham already. This week, she has really started focusing on voices. She cranes her neck to hear familiar voices, like Mom and Dad's. Her eyes are really starting to look as if she is focusing more. Soon she'll really know who her mommy and daddy are, and maybe she'll even smile for us! She's looking forward to her first Christmas and sharing her top-secret Christmas photos very shortly! Stay tuned!

Also new, is Gabby's emerging inner night owl. She refuses to sleep (or even play quietly) between the hours of 7-11 p.m. She goes down peacefully for naps all day long and then, BAM! No sleepy for Gabby! Time to show off my vocal skills! Someone better tell her that Santa won't visit her house if she doesn't sleep for mommy!

We're two weeks old!

Gabby is two weeks old already! Mommy and Daddy spent the first week trying to figure out this little creature, and vice versa. No two nights were alike, and we were wondering if we'd ever get a rhythm down! Then we went to her 1 week appointment where they told us that there IS no rhythm at this point in the game, and we just have to follow her lead. So we did... And at 2 weeks, they told us that since our little pumpkin is eating well and is up to 10 lbs 4.3 oz, that we could relax and let her tell us when she is hungry. Since then, she's been waking up to eat every 3 hours like clockwork and everyone is happy! Dad gets to feed her a bottle at night before bedtime and they both love that. We're down to 2 wakings per night, and she goes down easy after each one. Cross your fingers we can keep it this way!

Finally! We meet!

On the day after Thanksgiving, Gabrielle Elizabeth Tindall was born. We spent 16 hours in labor waiting for her to make her grand entrance, and what an entrance it was! Our bundle of joy weighed in at 9 lbs 3.4 ounces and measured 22 inches long! Right after, I was taken to recovery where Mike and I fought off the urge to call everyone we knew, so that Gabrielle could have her first meal with mom. We wanted to be sure to take advantage of the wakeful/alert stafe infants experience right after birth. Gabrielle took to nursing like a champ! Already making us proud at 1 hour old! Shortly after, family started arriving to see the long awaited baby bean and to greet her formally, by name, after all this time. : )

he says he loves the pregnant me...

Mike always says he loves me pregnant. So sweet! We took a stab at doing our own maternity photos, so that we can always remember the simple days, when baby bean was safe and warm inside my tummy! Everyone tells me that this is the easiest part of your child's life and to cherish it always... We're trying! : )

p.s. Looking back, this blog entry was written on the last day I spent pregnant! How fitting!

and the bean grows on...

Each time we got to see her on the ultrasound was cooler than the last. There's nothing like seeing your tiny little wonder come to life on the big screen!

Oh my, how she grows! Every week of my pregnancy, we took a picture of the belly in hopes of always remembering each moment. And boy did time fly by!

p.s. Look closely for Dad's 8 week belly shot. His beer belly puts my mommy belly to shame!

There's going to be a new Tindall in town! After spending over a decade together, Mike and I decided that it was time to turn our love & marriage into love & parenthood...

we did it!

Mike and I ran off to Nassau with some of our closest friends and family, and came home married! We highly recommend getting married in Paradise...

Our backyard is particularly cool, as we back up to high school property. So, in the spring we hear bats cracking, and in the fall we hear football cheers and band music! Also, Mike keeps our gardens in tip top shape, while I keep the photos coming...

Welcome to our casa! Purchased in November of 2003, we love this little abode that we call home. We knew the minute we walked into it that it was the one. We are the 3rd owners and have made ourselves quite comfy here!
