Spring is here?

Ahhhh... what a gorgeous weekend!!! We took advantage of the 70 degree weather and headed to Fells where we took a walk, saw some ducks, had lunch outside at Bonaparte, and then to the park to let Gabby blow off some steam. She wasn't feeling great this weekend due to her cold, but I think the fresh air did her good!

Ralphy!!!!

Time spent bundling up mommy - 10 minutes.
Time spent bundling up Gabby - 15 minutes.
Time spent getting mommy, Gabby, and my good camera safely out the back door - 1 minute.
Time until Gabby realized she couldn't walk in the snow with her new boots - 2 seconds.
Time spent out in the snow in total - about 2 minutes.
Time it took to get this fleeting moment on "film" - 2 seconds.
Time spent at home with my Gabby girl on her first snow day as a big kid - PRICELESS.

Tent time with Taylor...

Collapsible tents and tubes are a lifesaver for a tired mommy on a Sunday evening. Who am I kidding- TAYLOR is a lifesaver for a tired mommy on a Sunday evening. She comes up to play with Gabby and helps me make her dinner and give her a bath. We love when Taylor comes to play!

15 months!!!

Gabby's 15 month appointment was today! She is in great health- 96th percentile for weight and 99th percentile for height! Dr. K was thrilled with her language development. She even thanked him for the book he gave her during the visit. She is just getting over a viral thorat infection, but things are looking up now as she gets over this and adjusts to daylight savings. Sleep is on the horizon!!! Being a mom to a toddler-tornado is a ton of work. We need our rest when ever we can get it!

15 things I love about my 15 month old:

1. I love when you shout "lello-lello-lello!" when you see Big Bird.
2. I love that you turn on your soother and play in your crib in the a.m. before deciding you've had enough alone time, and cry for mommy and daddy.
3. I love that you can ask for a drink now, and we know what you mean! YES! Victory!
4. I love that you answer every question with a "no" head shake. I guess it's easier than shaking your head "yes".
5. I love that everyday you say something new. I think we live with a parrot!
6. I love that you discovered bubble blowing in the tub water, and laughed so hard that you had tears in your eyes.
7. I love when we get to the page when Curious George falls asleep, and you take your ninny out, put one finger to your mouth, and say "ssshhhhh!"
8. I love that you are stretching out, but still have that little, round puppy belly.
9. I love that once a container becomes empty, you naturally think it belongs on your head.
10. I love that you are as tall as your big kid friends.
11. I love how all toys are ride-on toys in your eyes. That includes the learning table, baby doll stroller, caterpillar pull-toy...
12. I love when you tickle our feet, and say "geh-geh-geh!" (this must mean, "tickle, tickle, tickle" in your own language).
13. I love when you see something that mommy and daddy have told you is not for babies, and you say, "dun-tah" (don't touch).
14. I love how you cover your stuffed animals with blankets and give them kisses. You even share your ninny with them!
15. I (most of the time) love how independent and strong your personality is. Even though wrestling you into your coat, and coaxing you to brush your teeth can be trying at times, I know that one day these traits will help you become someone extraordinary.

We got out to the park recently. No, it wasn't one of those gorgeous unseasonably mild days. It was one mid-40's day when we had just about had enough indoor time. Mike actually got INSIDE the swirly slide with Gabby! I'm not sure either one of them enjoyed it! See below for disturbing, yet comical visuals.

My camera barely saw the light of day this January. However, one lonnnnnngggg snowday while we were stuck inside, we got Gabby dressed up in her birthday tutu and took some pics. Gabby stood still and looked perfect, precisely ONCE, and this is what we ended up with!

Valentine's Day

Gabby had a great Valentine's Day. They had a party at daycare, and made cupcakes. We made heart cookies with Taylor and Payton, and then had a visit with Grandma Fifi and Grandpa Lupe. After Gabby went to bed, we all had steamed crabs and beer. Perfect end to a perfect day!

Another one for the history books...

Well, maybe not such a big deal but today we became officially bottle-free! See above visual- leaky, pain-in-the-hind-end, bottles in the trash! We have been swapping one bottle per week with a sippy cup of milk. Today we went ahead and held our breath while we handed over a sippy instead of her beloved "baa" or "mehh" (milk), that she promptly asks for within seconds of waking! Technically, Dad did the honors but she didn't put up a fight at all! We chose to ditch the a.m. bottle last since she likes it so much, we enjoy the occasional cuddle she allows while drinking her milk, and well- we're just plain busy in the a.m.! We're so proud of her!

Where were you when...?

I wanted to capture this very special Inauguration Day for Gabby so when she is old enough, I can tell her all about it and remind her of how fortunate she is to have grown up during such an exciting time in our nation's history!

Another pearly white!

Wow! We were completely surprised tonight to find that Gabby's right incisor popped through. We didn't even know she was working on a new tooth! Tooth #7 is cute as can be, hence the kitty brushing his teeth. (We're running out of shark photos that aren't just plain scary.)

She bleeds purple!

I just have to brag... Gabby has learned her first color- PURPLE! Daddy taught her, for the Ravens during playoffs. She's been learning while carrying around Mickey Mouse paint swatches from Home Depot (an idea I got from one of my mom friends). We got her to repeat "yellow" (or something like it) but purple is definitely her favorite! Daddy's little girl!!!

They always come in twos.

Gabby's 6th took emerged today! A molar on her left bottom to match the one she just got on the right. They always come in twos! She will even point to her new tooth for you and make you touch it. She's pretty proud!
